John Charles debuted for Leeds United on the 19th April 1949 making an immediate impact with incredible skill, pin point passing and an explosive shot. During his prolific years at Leeds United (1949 - 1957 & return from Juventus in 1962), the man who became known as 'The Gentle Giant' scored 157 goals in 327 appearances including 11 hat tricks whilst a Wales national team player (from 1950 to 1965) At centre half or centre forward, he was flawless - WORLD CLASS in not just one position but TWO!
